HERBAL MEDICINE

The art of TCM is acknowledging the signs and symptoms which patients presents while understanding the disharmony of the body.

In Tun Yun tang, we strongly Observe the pulse and pattern, recognise the damage of which different pathogens can cause, then treat according to the symptoms.

In Tun Yun Tang, we strongly believes that each individual has different body constitutions and pattern. The formulas we prescribed are merely based purely on your signs and symptoms.  We will not prescribe a formula just because research indicates it may assist with particular medical conditions. We still examine  the signs and symptoms that the patient displays, as this is the foundation of a good TCM physician.

ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture is a technique that utilises inserting very fine needles into your skin at certain locations on your body. Acupuncture, is most typically used to relieve pain. It's increasingly being utilised for overall well-being, including stress management.

Acupuncture, is a method for harmonising the flow of energy or life force, also known as Qi. It’s believed the energy flows via your body's channels (meridians). Acupuncture practitioners believe that by placing needles into certain spots along these channels, your energy flow will be re-balanced.

For a single complaint, a standard treatment plan might include one or two sessions each week. The number of treatments required will be determined by the severity of the condition being addressed. In most cases, six to eight treatments are common.

After an acupuncture session, some people feel relaxed while others feel invigorated. Acupuncture's advantages are sometimes difficult to measure, although many individuals find it to be effective in treating a range of painful conditions.

MOXIBUSTION

Moxibustion is a form of therapy that entails the burning of mugwort leaves. This is a small, spongy herb that is believed to enhance healing with acupuncture. As such, the leaves are burnt close to the skin’s surface using a stick to apply heat.‌

The practice is derived from Chinese medicine. Its purpose is to strengthen the blood, stimulate the flow of Qi or energy, and maintain good health. ‌

According to Chinese medicine, an increase in the circulation of Qi can help your body deal with a broad range of issues, including gastro problems and chronic pain.

FIRE CUPPING

Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. Cupping helps balance yin and yang, or the negative and positive, within the body. Restoring balance between these two extremes is thought to help with the body’s resistance to pathogens as well as its ability to increase blood flow and reduce pain.

Cupping increases blood circulation to the area where the cups are placed. This may relieve muscle tension, which can improve overall blood flow and promote cell repair. As the air inside the cup cools, it creates a vacuum. This causes your skin to rise and redden as your blood vessels expand. The cup is generally left in place for up to 3 minutes.

It is common for cupping to leave distinctive small, circular bruises on the areas where the cups were applied, and it is usually painless. These cupping marks are discoloration of the skin due to broken blood vessels just beneath the skin, much like a bruise. This indicates the level of blood and Qi stagnation, toxin accumulation, or dampness accumulation in your body. The colour and pattern of the marks reflect the level of stagnation in that area. The darker the colour, the more stagnation present.

These harmless marks will slowly fade before disappearing completely after approximately 1 week depending on the skin’s regenerative ability. After regular cupping treatments, you will find that the marks will visibly become lighter and lighter.
